Hedgehogs have once again had a brilliant and busy week. In our topic we continued talking all about Castles and this week we focussed on who we think would live in a castle. We had some brilliant suggestions such as Kings, Queens, Princesses and Dragons! In our phonics we have continued to explore our lovely new resources, we are very grateful to receive a variety of different books including non-fiction, traditional stories and songs. The children have enjoyed sharing these with a friend, adult or even one of our new cuddly phonics monsters. Focusing on our Maths, Hedgehogs have been working on their shape recognition this week with a focus on circles. We have been hunting for circles high and low, all around the classroom and outdoor area. It’s safe to say we are fantastic at identifying them and by the end of next week I’m sure our square recognition will be top notch as well.
As well as all of this, the children have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. We put on our creative caps and made some great lanterns to celebrate. Together, we all worked collaboratively to make our very own Chinese Dragon! What great teamwork everybody!
