To celebrate World Book Day we turned our classrooms into a series of cosy bedtime corners ready for storytime. The children took this to a new level as they brought in books, pillows, blankets, onesies, teddies and even the odd pair of slippers. The staff also had their dressing gowns on. The lights were dimmed as children mixed across classes to read and share their favourite books. Parents joined in and cuddled with their children adding a buzz and calmness to the rooms – a true reading for pleasure afternoon. It wouldn’t have been complete without a biscuit and hot chocolate. By the time they left school everyone was ready to climb the staircase to bed.
