Hedgehogs Forest Preschool Weekly Updates 04/03/24

After the half term break, Hedgehogs have been surprised to see sudden changes in our natural spaces.  At our nursery gate, we were welcomed back by cheery yellow daffodils that had been green shoots.  Tiny leaf and blossom buds have appeared on our apple tree.  Our willow tree now has soft, fluffy catkins dusted in yellow pollen.

It has been exciting to spot these signs of spring.  Noticing plants growing and changing has got us thinking about planting seeds.  We worked together to prepare our garden patch by digging and weeding.  It was interesting to look at the minibeasts we found- worms, ladybirds and a shiny black beetle. We’ve made a new friend- a jolly robin who hops and flits in and out of our hedge and perches on the fence to watch us engaged in our play and learning!
