We’ve had another brilliant week in Otter class and have all been putting in lots of effort with our learning and Christmas performance preparations. We have been practising our songs and working on our assessments this week.
In our English lessons we have continued to look at ‘Lost and Found’. Year 1 and 2 have been working hard on their sentence stacks, using conjunctions, verbs and nouns to improve their writing. We have all been thinking about using description in our independent writing and have shared some excellent ideas during our class discussions. Reception children have produced some brilliant work on penguins and feelings.
In our Maths lessons we have been using our addition, subtraction and fact family knowledge to reason and solve problems. Reception children have been continuing to master their numbers to 5 through a variety of activities themed on traditional fairy-tales. Earlier in the week the children went on a Goldilocks treasure hunt and had a go at sharing out the Three Bears porridge. Our Year 2’s have also been working super hard on their assessment papers this week.
In our Funky Fingers sessions we have used brick modelling to identify numbers and reason.
We have also been practising our cutting and pencil control skills through creating pathways to the Three Bears cottage and sequencing the events in our tale.
