Otter Class weekly Updates 16/10/2023

We’ve had another fantastic week in Otter class, we have been working hard and have been really productive in our learning this week. We have also been practising our singing in preparation for our Harvest Festival service next Thursday and are looking forward to our trip to the church.

In our English lessons we have been looking at an alternative fairytale ‘Pigs Might Fly’ and our Year 2’s have once again come up with some brilliant ideas during our sentence stacking lessons. Reception children have also enjoyed their involvement and have produced some fantastic work about the Red Arrows through written description and drawings.

In our Topic lessons, we have continued with our DT project and have been evaluating and adjusting our aeroplane models. We have used our knowledge of the properties of various materials from last week’s learning to make adaptations to our designs based on our tests.

On Tuesday, we wore yellow to show support for World Mental Health Day, and enjoyed taking part in activities such as a nature scavenger hunt, and creating beautiful suncatchers for our grown-ups. We also completed activities to promote self-esteem by placing an emphasis on self-worth and belief.
